About the role#
As a Nurse Intern at Carlsbad Medical Center, you will gain hands-on hospital experience while working alongside registered nurses. This role helps you transition from a student to a professional by building your clinical skills and confidence in a real healthcare setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Perform hourly rounding and engage in purposeful interactions with patients.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the care team regarding patient conditions and shift reports.
- Develop your clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying practices under the guidance of an RN.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited nursing program.
- CPR certification from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card for Skilled Nursing.
- Between 0 and 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
