About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship within the Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. You will work on-site in Dallas, Texas, collaborating with experienced engineers on infrared and electro-optical solutions for defense platforms. This 12 to 14 week program focuses on providing hands-on experience through a variety of engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Perform board level testing and troubleshooting.
- Assist with printed circuit board design, including schematics and layout.
- Help with parts procurement and the search for alternate components.
- Conduct design analysis and calculations under the supervision of senior staff.
- Assist engineers with design details and gather data for ongoing projects.
- Carry out basic work instructions to learn company methods and practices.
- Conduct limited scope testing and participate in research as needed.
- Complete assigned tasks on time while supporting the mission and values of the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, specifically pursuing an undergraduate or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including documentation and presentation skills.
- A diligent, detail-oriented, and self-driven approach to work.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD security clearance.
