About the role#
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is hiring for the Computing Graduate Student Intern program. This full-time internship provides an opportunity to participate in hands-on research while pursuing a graduate degree. The program runs from January 4, 2027, through May 28, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical and research support for projects in computational science, cyber defense, computer science, and numerical methods.
- Support the documentation, testing, creation, or modification of Laboratory software, hardware, or operating systems.
- Conduct research in your assigned area under limited supervision.
- Perform technical assignments of basic to moderate complexity.
- Present your work through presentations or poster sessions.
What you'll need#
- Must be a continuing college student in good standing pursuing a graduate degree by Fall 2027 in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related STEM fields.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be 18 years or older at the start of the internship.
- Experience applying advanced computational science or mathematical principles to technical problems.
- Ability to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

- Modality: Hybrid, with the potential for remote work days depending on the assignment.
