About the role#
The Computational Engineering Division offers internships for graduate students and those who have recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree. You will contribute to research projects in computational engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and related fields. This role provides an opportunity to apply your studies in a practical environment while working alongside engineers, scientists, and technical staff.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to scientific research and development projects.
- Gather and analyze data to support research objectives.
- Conduct research within your assigned area under limited supervision.
- Perform technical assignments of basic complexity.
- Present your findings through presentations or poster sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be a continuing graduate student or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Demonstrated academic achievement in your field of study.
- Ability to apply computational science or mathematical principles to solve technical problems.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with technical computing packages such as Matlab, Python, or TensorFlow.
- Ability to communicate concepts and ideas effectively.
- Eligibility to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act.
