About the role#
As an RF Engineering Intern within the Etch Product Group, you will contribute to the development of power delivery technology for semiconductor processing. You will work alongside RF engineers and plasma physicists to design solutions that support angstrom-level semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves working autonomously on daily tasks while receiving guidance on new assignments.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development of moderately complex RF systems and sub-systems.
- Apply mathematical and engineering methods to RF system designs.
- Contribute to research efforts and data analysis.
- Develop functional specifications for RF generators, matching networks, and filters.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
- Network with senior internal and external personnel in your area of expertise.
What you'll need#
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Plasma, or a similar field.
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory, RF network theory, and distributed network theory.
- Familiarity with Smith Chart theory, S-parameter analysis, and RF measurement equipment like power meters, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with network modeling tools such as SPICE.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
- Adherence to lab safety standards.
- Proficiency in switch-mode electronics, analog, and mixed-signal circuit theory is preferred.
- Experience with soldering TH and SMT components, as well as software tools like MatLab or Python.
- Experience with EM simulation tools such as HFSS or Comsol.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems using oscilloscopes and probes.
- Familiarity with design principles for serviceability, manufacturability, and reliability.
