About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern within the Office of the Chief Technical Officer, you will join the Patterning Technology team. You will support the development of EUV patterning technology, including thin film deposition and etching processes. You will work alongside experienced engineers to advance the hardware and processes used in semiconductor manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Operate wafer processing equipment in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
- Set up and run experiments to test new processes.
- Perform chemistry and material analysis.
- Use metrology tools to measure and characterize wafer performance.
- Plan and execute feasibility studies for novel EUV patterning technologies.
- Analyze experimental data and present your findings to cross-functional teams.
- Conduct literature reviews on relevant research topics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a PhD student in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in a cleanroom or lab setting with thin films, semiconductor patterning, or solid-state materials.
- Understanding of chemical mechanisms in semiconductor wafer processing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint to present project status and experimental plans.
- Experience with plasma processes for thin film deposition and etching is preferred.
- Familiarity with analytical methods such as SEM/TEM, XPS, AFM, ellipsometry, or SIMS is a plus.
- Knowledge of lithography, photoresist, and EUV patterning is preferred.
- Experience with troubleshooting techniques like DOE, 5-why, 8D, or fishbone diagrams is a plus.
