About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will join the Customer Support Business Group. This team focuses on the performance, safety, and quality of our installed equipment base. You will work autonomously on daily tasks while receiving guidance on new assignments. You will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
What you'll do#
- Develop moderately complex electrical systems and sub-systems.
- Apply mathematical and engineering methods to electrical system designs.
- Contribute to research efforts involving data.
- Develop functional specifications for electrical, electro-mechanical, and power distribution systems.
- Network with senior internal and external personnel in your area of expertise.
What you'll need#
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills in English.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC power distribution systems and signals and controls theory.
- System-level understanding of electrical architecture, IO controllers, and applications.
- Knowledge of power panel circuit design, including safety interlocks and 3-phase load analysis.
- Working knowledge of PCB or low-voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as PCAD, ORCAD, or ZUKEN for circuit design and simulation.
- Familiarity with electrical standards like UL, CE, IEC, and SEMI.
- Experience with power distribution or control system design is a plus.
- Familiarity with design for serviceability, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting with network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
- Experience with SPICE, LabView, MathCAD, MatLab, or analysis tools like HFSS and Comsol is preferred.
- Familiarity with RF measurement equipment, including power meters, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
