About the role#
As an Information Security Systems Engineer intern, you will help assess security infrastructure and network design. You will identify risks and vulnerabilities across systems and applications. This role involves developing policies to secure infrastructure and advising clients on information assurance standards.
What you'll do#
- Assess security infrastructure and network architecture to ensure system integrity.
- Identify and analyze security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Oversee the development, testing, and operation of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus tools.
- Create policies and procedures for securing applications and infrastructure.
- Evaluate engineering initiatives and provide technical recommendations to clients.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology/Computer Information Systems.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Familiarity with security concepts like authentication, access control, cryptography, and application security.

- Location: Palm Bay, Florida.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule (80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
