About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position based in Fontana, California. You will work on-site to support pharmacy operations and provide direct care to customers. The role involves maintaining a safe environment and assisting the department manager with daily pharmacy tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the computer system.
- Dispense correct medications and bag prescriptions for delivery.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to handle pharmacy tasks with honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers, prescribers, and pharmacy staff.
