About the role#
As a Pharmacy Student intern, you will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This position supports the pharmacy team in daily operations, ensuring efficient service and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will work under the guidance of a pharmacist to help provide care and maintain pharmacy workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with daily tasks, excluding those requiring professional pharmacist judgment.
- Enter patient information into the computer system with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform post fill audits (PFAs) to ensure quality control.
- Support the delivery of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services.
- Provide shift leadership to support pharmacy workflow and pharmacist oversight.
- Train and monitor pharmacy technicians and support health and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, safety protocols, and sanitation guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school program.
- Completion of national and/or state intern registration, certification, or licensure.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current certification in immunizations or the ability to obtain it.
