About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in delivering quality care and service to our customers. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure that every customer feels welcome and valued. This role involves working closely with pharmacists, prescribers, and insurance providers to facilitate accurate prescription processing and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient data, interpret prescriptions, and dispense medication.
- Coordinate with prescribers for authorizations and manage third-party insurance claims.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking, stocking, and returning medication bottles.
- Support store operations by answering product questions and facilitating customer purchases.
- Uphold safety standards by reporting risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment while managing conflict professionally.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling sensitive customer and business information.
- Capacity to provide support to diverse groups, including older adults, minors, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to follow directions and perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
