About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team by providing excellent service to customers and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to help meet department goals and ensure quality standards are met. This is an on-site, part-time role based in Wood Village, Oregon.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Input patient information into the pharmacy system, dispense medications, and process third party insurance claims.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions while contacting prescribers for authorization when needed.
- Deliver immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication bottles.
- Answer customer questions about products throughout the store and pharmacy.
- Ensure the department remains clean and safe, reporting any accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy and a current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment and handle conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Capability to provide support to diverse groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
