About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will work on-site to support our pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist with daily tasks and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Create a welcoming environment where customers feel important and appreciated.
- Answer customer questions regarding products throughout the store and within the pharmacy.
- Provide drug counseling and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Accept, interpret, and dispense prescriptions while contacting prescribers or insurance companies as needed.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking, stocking, and returning medication stock bottles.
- Maintain cleanliness in the department.
- Report safety risks, accidents, or prescription incidents to management and the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to promote trust and respect among team members.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
