About the role#
This internship provides an operational understanding of the Hospitality department at The American Club. You will train in various functional positions to develop the skills needed to manage the department independently when a manager is not scheduled. The role focuses on building your management capabilities and providing a comprehensive view of team leadership.
What you'll do#
- Train in all departmental functional positions.
- Manage functions independently during manager absences.
- Learn financial aspects of the department.
- Handle scheduling and interview front line staff.
- Lead daily communications and build member relations.
- Serve as Manager on Duty and provide customer service.
- Interact with the Executive Management Committee.
- Manage performance and conduct evaluations.
- Complete a final project presentation for the Executive Management Team.
- Gain proficiency in systems such as Touch, Springer Miller, Microsoft Office, and inventory management tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior in a four-year college program.
- Academic focus on hospitality, resort, or spa management.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- Authorization to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Kohler, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (minimum 12 weeks, starting by May 18 and ending after August 7).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts vary between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, including weekdays and weekends.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
