About the role#
This is a 6-month internship at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. You will rotate through various food and beverage outlets to gain experience in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. The role focuses on service standards, staff training, inventory management, and administrative procedures. You will also participate in projects like menu development and special dining events.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the restaurant floor and lead communication between front and back of house teams.
- Train in all restaurant positions to understand daily operations.
- Assist outlet managers with cover forecasting, scheduling, payroll, and labor controls.
- Manage inventory levels, including product requests, waste reduction, and inventory counts.
- Lead opening and closing procedures for your assigned outlet.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings for staff and attend weekly team meetings.
- Handle administrative tasks such as purchasing, invoicing, and records control.
- Reconcile operational paperwork, including guest receipts and vendor invoices.
- Support service by acting as a server, bartender, or host when needed.
- Oversee dining room flow and resolve guest concerns.
- Learn to manage schedules, cash handling, office reporting, and social media.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university degree program for Hospitality or Resort Management.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Previous food and beverage experience is preferred.

- Term: Summer and Fall 2027 (May through October).
