About the role#
As a Sustainability Intern, you will work with the Corporate Environmental Home Office team. This role involves tracking sustainability trends and supporting the department with research, data, and training development. You will gain experience in a large-scale construction and engineering environment while continuing your education.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on sustainability legislation and regulations.
- Assist with the corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory and track metrics related to waste, water, and biodiversity.
- Help develop and present environmental training materials.
- Use electronic solutions to input and manage sustainability performance data.
- Support the team during conference calls and complete assigned department tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Environmental Science, Environmental Compliance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Omaha, Nebraska, though remote work may be considered for the right candidate.
- The term is for Fall 2026.
- You must be able to work 5-20 hours per week during the school year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
- This is a paid, part-time, temporary position.
