About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management. You will participate in key roles and functions, including estimating new tunnel projects and supporting ongoing construction work. You will assist with engineering tasks, project reporting, subcontractor management, and material procurement.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and resolve minor technical problems during construction.
- Plan and schedule job segments while tracking quantities and costs.
- Maintain records for job progress, material usage, and project costs.
- Investigate incidents and recommend solutions.
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage and expedite material deliveries.
- Supervise field activities and assist with contract administration.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction management.
- Completion of at least 4 semesters of school prior to the start of the internship.
- Ability to work full-time from June through August 2027.
- Interest in heavy civil construction and a willingness to work outside on project sites.
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently to meet project goals.
- Effective professional communication skills.
- Commitment to working safely and maintaining reliable attendance.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
