About the role#
We are looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience with the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will see projects from the initial concept through the construction phase. Interns gain practical experience in structural design and visit job sites to see how engineering decisions translate into built work.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation of calculation packages and structural reports.
- Assist in developing structural details and sketches using Revit.
- Participate in job site visits to observe construction progress and gain field experience.
- Support responses to RFIs and submittal reviews.
- Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including statics and mechanics of materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Completed coursework in structural analysis and reinforced concrete or steel design.
- Experience with Revit.
- Knowledge of structural analysis concepts and load path fundamentals.
- EIT/FE exam passed.
- Interest in structural consulting and building design.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept constructive feedback.
