About the role#
As an Equipment Planner Intern, you will support Kiewit Equipment Services in Toronto. You will focus on the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reliability of our construction and mining equipment fleet. This role involves both daily tasks and long-term fleet management, including the implementation and auditing of preventative maintenance programs.
What you'll do#
- Handle materials and procurement tasks.
- Create and maintain documentation, including tool and filter lists.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and parts.
- Manage logistics and communication.
- Perform long and short-range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Prepare paperwork for critical lifts.
- Use failure analysis data to improve equipment availability.
- Support craft maintenance technicians by ordering parts, managing inventory, scheduling crews, and overseeing safety and quality.
- Complete specialty projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree or diploma program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time from January to April 2027.
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project goals.
- Capability to access all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments.
- Commitment to safety and professional communication.
- Willingness to travel as needed, work overtime, and work weekends.
