About the role#
As a Finance Intern, you will support project-level accounting and finance functions. We operate each project like a small business, where you will assist with cost control, payroll, accounts payable, and human capital management. You will learn to execute processes related to labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts, while contributing to the month-end close and financial reporting packages.
What you'll do#
- Manage payroll and HR workflows, including hiring, transfers, and terminations.
- Oversee the purchasing cycle, from invoice receipt to payment and internal controls.
- Troubleshoot accounts payable and vendor issues.
- Handle intercompany and client billing, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely to support cash management.
- Review costs, budget structures, and quantity claiming to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
- Adjust forecasts and budgets to confirm proper revenue and cost recognition.
- Support EEO and labor law compliance at the project level.
- Collaborate with the Operations team and adapt to changing project needs.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a preference for experience in Pivot Tables and V-Look Ups.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid Summer 2027 internship.
- The role is on-site and requires the ability to relocate anywhere in the country for the duration of the assignment.
- You must be able to access all parts of a construction site in various climates and environments.
