About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring a Finance Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides hands-on experience in operational finance within the construction industry. You will work on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio, supporting financial management activities and gaining exposure to data analytics and AI-enabled tools.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured intern program to apply your academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios.
- Build foundational skills in operational finance, including project finance concepts and accounting systems.
- Support day-to-day financial management across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions.
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and monitoring project cash flow.
- Review billing details against client contracts and validate project cost coding.
- Support the Shared Services Organization with invoice processing and verify vendor account status.
- Help prepare ad hoc analyses, presentations, and progress updates for your supervisor.
- Contribute to process improvements and learn to use AI tools to increase financial workflow efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 2- or 4-year degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of completed college coursework.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Basic understanding of GAAP principles.
- Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with collaboration tools like Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction, ask questions, and follow tasks through to completion.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and apply AI tools to financial processes.
- Ability to work a standard work week.
