About the role#
Turner Construction Company is hiring an intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Shelton, Connecticut. You will work under supervision to build foundational knowledge in construction management, project financials, safety protocols, and subcontractor relations. This role is designed to support your learning and may apply toward educational credits.
What you'll do#
- Support the project team with document control, file management, material tracking, and progress reporting.
- Assist with the collection and review of information for shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and studies for project items.
- Help the team with project close-out preparations.
- Coordinate meetings and communicate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to apply academic knowledge to practical work activities.
- Willingness to comply with all safety protocols and follow supervisor instructions.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protection Equipment and navigate project site signage.
