About the role#
The Integrative Engineering and Technology Solutions team is hiring an Integrative Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You will work on infrastructure projects by supporting systems engineering tasks. This role focuses on learning through formal training, mentorship, and project work. You will gain experience in requirements management and process improvement while working with a multidisciplinary team.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply company procedures, project requirements, and systems engineering standards.
- Review contracts, codes, and regulations to identify and document project requirements.
- Support requirements management, including definition, allocation, and repository maintenance.
- Coordinate verification and validation activities by tracking methods and compliance status.
- Use SharePoint workflows, templates, and project trackers to organize data.
- Communicate with discipline teams and stakeholders to collect input and resolve comments.
- Help improve Kiewit processes by identifying lessons learned and potential workflow updates.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an engineering degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Experience using Python and SQL.
- Strong logical thinking skills with the ability to plan and execute tasks.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with your team.
- Knowledge of requirements management tools like IBM DOORS, Helix ALM, Visure, or Jama Connect is an asset.
- Familiarity with systems engineering fundamentals, such as the V-model lifecycle, is an asset.
- Knowledge of requirements management practices like ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 or the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook is an asset.
