    About the role#

    As a Finance Analyst Intern at Kiewit, you will support project-based accounting and finance functions. You will act as part of a team managing the business side of construction projects. This role involves tasks such as cost control, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and human capital management. You will learn to execute processes related to labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts while assisting with month-end close and financial reporting.

    What you'll do#

    • Master systems for payroll and HR workflows, including hiring, transfers, and terminations.
    • Manage purchasing workflows, invoice processing, and internal controls.
    • Troubleshoot vendor issues and handle accounts payable processes.
    • Support intercompany and client billing by ensuring documentation is accurate and timely.
    • Review costs, quantity claiming, and budget structures to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Identify and adjust forecast and budget issues to confirm proper revenue recognition.
    • Collaborate with the Operations team and assist with project needs as they arise.
    • Implement EEO and labor laws by following the Corporate Compliance Program.
    • Maintain an organized work environment and communicate effectively with the team.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a preference for experience in Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and maintain regular attendance.
    • Capacity to access all parts of a construction site in various climates and environments.
    • Sole US citizenship is required to obtain site badge access.
    • Willingness to travel or relocate, as this position may require up to 50% travel.

    • Status: Full-time, paid internship.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Note: This position requires the ability to relocate anywhere in the country as project needs dictate.
