About the role#
The Key Investment Services (KIS) internship is a 10.5-week structured program designed to provide hands-on experience in the wealth management industry. Interns work directly with Private Client Advisors to support financial planning, client discovery, and administrative operations. This role is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Boise, Idaho, running from May 26, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Partner with a KIS Private Client Advisor to gain direct industry experience.
- Participate in client discovery and financial planning activities, including data entry and analysis.
- Observe client meetings and assist with administrative tasks, such as digitizing files and managing Salesforce records.
- Develop client relationship skills and assist in planning client events.
- Engage in Key Corp Enterprise learning labs and networking events.
- Collaborate on a Capstone Group Project focused on real-world industry topics.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a four-year or graduate-level degree with an expected graduation date by May 2029.
- Coursework in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or data science.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through past work experience or extracurricular activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate client interaction and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- Preferred: Participation in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program and completion of the CFP exam.
Location & details#
- Location: Boise, Idaho (on-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $23 per hour plus a $2,000 summer internship sign-on bonus.
