About the role#
This internship position supports the Key Experience and Design (KeyXD) team at KeyBank. You will work on initiatives to improve client and employee experiences through user-centered design and process strategy. This is a full-time, paid summer role running from May 26, 2027, to August 6, 2027. You will gain hands-on experience applying design thinking to uncover pain points and co-create solutions across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Apply design thinking methodologies to identify opportunities and solve problems.
- Contribute to journey mapping, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
- Work directly with users to understand their challenges.
- Collaborate with a team of experience champions to drive change.
- Communicate complex ideas through effective storytelling.
- Manage multiple project priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
- Comply with all company policies and professional standards.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years toward a four-year undergraduate degree, with an anticipated graduation date in or before May 2028.
- Coursework in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Communications, Journalism, or Customer Experience.
- Experience with projects involving design thinking, research, or problem-solving.
- Ability to break down complex issues into clear frameworks and recommendations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Figma, or Adobe Suite is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
