About the role#
KEITH is hiring a Survey and Mapping Intern for the summer of 2027 in Pompano Beach, Florida. You will work with experienced surveyors, field crews, and office staff to gain hands-on experience in land surveying practices, equipment operation, and data collection. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist field crews with land surveys and measurements under supervision.
- Operate and maintain equipment like total stations, GPS units, and levels.
- Set up surveying gear, take measurements, and record data in the field.
- Help conduct topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
- Learn to interpret survey plans, blueprints, and legal descriptions.
- Support data processing and analysis using surveying software.
- Keep work areas clean and ensure equipment is maintained and stored properly.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in land surveying, geospatial technology, and construction.
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles or relevant coursework.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain while carrying equipment.
