About the role#
KCI is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Duluth, Georgia. You will work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks between mid-May and late August. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, with a dedicated supervisor and mentor assigned to support your development.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing construction plans for transportation and roadway projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, interpret drawings and specifications, and complete quantity take-offs.
- Use CADD software to design and prepare construction drawings.
- Help develop engineering reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Participate in proposal preparation and general project support.
- Learn about industry standards, design practices, and project delivery methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
