About the role#
Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for a full-time, paid internship in San Diego, California, during Summer 2027. This is an on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for projects of various sizes.
- Use technical software to analyze, produce, and QC project deliverables.
- Solve complex problems while assisting project managers.
- Collaborate with team members across different disciplines.
- Learn discipline-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.
- Gain familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations along with company and client standards.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, as well as Engineering Technology.

- Compensation: $31 to $32 per hour.
