About the role#
KCI is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pennsylvania. You will work on roadway and transportation projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers. The internship requires a 40-hour work week for at least 10 weeks between mid-May and late August. You will be assigned a dedicated supervisor and mentor and are required to attend planned activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of construction plans for transportation and roadway projects.
- Perform engineering calculations, interpret drawings and specifications, and complete quantity take-offs.
- Design and prepare construction drawings for transportation projects using CADD software.
- Contribute to engineering reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Help coordinate work between multiple engineering disciplines.
- Participate in proposal preparation and other project support tasks.
- Gain exposure to industry standards, design practices, and project delivery methods.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Note that motor vehicle checks may be required for this role.
