About the role#
As a Student Nurse Aide in the M/S Ortho Neuro department, you will work under the direction of a registered nurse to provide care for patients and their families. This role allows nursing students to gain clinical experience while supporting the healthcare team in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, ambulation, and oral care.
- Help with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including room orientation.
- Answer patient call lights within two minutes.
- Collect and record vital signs, height, weight, and intake and output data.
- Report changes in patient condition or family concerns to licensed staff.
- Assist with meals, snacks, and water service.
- Support the nursing staff with delegated tasks, such as specimen collection and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment and handle personal property with care.
- Document all provided care in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in emergency care, including crash cart checks and responding to Code Blue.
- Provide post-mortem care as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited RN program with at least one semester successfully completed.
- Participation in an approved Work Study Program or current employment at Kaweah Health while enrolled in a specific partnership program.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to complete Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire.
- A current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred.

- Location: Visalia, California.
- Shift: Part-time, 12-hour day shifts.
- This is a paid position.
