About the role#
JP Cullen offers a paid, full-time internship for students interested in construction safety. This role provides hands-on experience by involving you in real project work, site visits, and safety management tasks. You will work alongside our teams to learn how we maintain safety standards on active construction sites.
What you'll do#
- Conduct jobsite safety audits to identify and fix unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Develop and present safety topics at orientations or corporate gatherings.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, including writing formal reports.
- Travel to jobsites for meetings, project planning, and training sessions.
- Complete one Toolbox Talk per week.
- Maintain a daily log of your activities and learning outcomes.
- Submit completed projects and audit reports to Superintendents for review.
- Attend weekly safety meetings and operational planning sessions.
- Review the company safety manual to understand our best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Management.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction site safety.
- Ability to perform safety audits and assist with incident reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Comfort working in both office and field environments.
