About the role#
JP Cullen offers a practical intern and co-op experience designed to mirror real-life construction work. This is a paid, full-time position that provides a challenging environment for students pursuing degrees in engineering or construction-related fields. You will work directly with project managers or site superintendents to gain exposure to all aspects of field operations.
What you'll do#
- Review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
- Update contract documents to reflect revisions and change bulletins.
- Organize and estimate change order work, including subcontractor pricing and quantity takeoffs.
- Evaluate field problems, document RFI's, and produce sketches for clarification.
- Update and distribute project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare project closeout documents, including as-built updates and warranty manuals.
- Coordinate weekly jobsite meetings, prepare agendas, and track subcontractor commitments.
- Monitor subcontractor work for quality, schedule adherence, and manpower.
- Procure materials, track shipments, and manage site deliveries.
- Prepare cost summaries for backcharge or extra work tickets.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn.
