About the role#
As a Preconstruction Engineer Intern, you will report to the Director of Preconstruction. You will support project success during the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and bidding phases. This role involves maintaining the tools, data, and resources our team relies on to manage construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform take-off assignments to quantify scopes of work.
- Manage subcontractor quote coverage to ensure bids are received for all work categories.
- Collaborate with trade teams on phasing and scheduling to sequence work activities.
- Track labor production rates to maintain the historical cost database.
- Update the conceptual cost database and obtain current market pricing.
- Review scope letters to ensure subcontractor proposals are complete.
- Obtain material pricing for self-performed work.
- Attend site walks to document existing conditions.
- Manage electronic documents and assist the team in solving project challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Interest in building a career within the construction industry.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
- The position operates on a rolling basis.
