About the role#
The Advanced Clinical Research team at Johnson & Johnson uses real-world clinical and hemodynamic data to generate evidence and identify new research directions. This co-op position is based in Danvers, Massachusetts, and focuses on the intersection of epidemiology, biostatistics, and data science. You will work with a clinical scientist and cross-functional partners to address specific analytical questions across multiple studies.
What you'll do#
- Develop and execute reproducible statistical analyses of observational and longitudinal clinical data. This includes defining cohorts and endpoints, running sensitivity analyses, and documenting assumptions.
- Clean, structure, and visualize complex datasets containing patient characteristics and clinical outcomes.
- Use R, Python, and SQL to perform data analysis within reproducible environments like Jupyter Notebook or Quarto.
- Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and engineers to interpret findings and communicate results through presentations and written summaries.
- Recommend clinically meaningful questions to guide future research.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, data science, biomedical engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Working knowledge of epidemiologic study design, statistical inference, and the analysis of observational or longitudinal data.
- Experience using R or Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with SQL and reproducible workflows.
- Strong attention to data quality, analytical assumptions, and documentation.
- Excellent collaboration skills and an interest in working with clinicians and scientists.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
- Prior experience with clinical, healthcare, cardiovascular, or medical device data is preferred.
