About the role#
This Early Stage Innovation R&D Co-Op position is based in Raritan, New Jersey. You will support the Wound Closure and Healing team within the MedTech Surgery organization. This is a full-time, paid role requiring 40 hours per week. The term runs from January through July 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on work in an engineering laboratory setting.
- Build and evaluate prototypes for new surgical technologies.
- Develop test methods and fixtures for product performance.
- Participate in voice-of-customer labs to understand user needs.
- Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project activities.
- Maintain documentation, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and recording meeting minutes.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating 3D models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
