About the role#
Motorola Solutions is hiring an Industrial Engineering intern for our Continuous Improvement team. You will spend the summer working on operational efficiency and productivity. This role involves designing and implementing industrial systems that bring together people, equipment, materials, and space. You will work across multiple departments to streamline processes and improve how we use resources.
What you'll do#
- Design and refine manufacturing methods, procedures, and production sequences.
- Conduct data collection and perform work studies to measure operational effectiveness.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and processes.
- Analyze operational problems to develop practical solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A graduation date no later than December 2029.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data collection and work study methodologies.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement concepts.

- This internship is located in Elgin, Illinois.
- This is an on-site, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
- This position is paid.
