About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will work on-site with our data teams to transform complex information into insights that support medical device performance and patient care. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision while maintaining high attention to detail.
What you'll do#
- Build interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize device performance, service metrics, and clinical trends.
- Analyze data from SQL Server, Excel, and cloud platforms to uncover patterns.
- Collaborate with field ops managers, clinical engineers, and data scientists to define KPIs and reporting needs.
- Automate reporting workflows using Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Present insights to cross-functional teams and contribute to strategic discussions.
- Apply AI models to identify patterns in service logs and device usage.
- Develop predictive tools to optimize technician dispatching and reduce downtime.
- Support the team in ad-hoc data projects and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack including Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, dashboard design, Python, R, and SQL.
- Understanding of JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries.
- Experience with data warehousing, data preparation, or data gateways.
- Strong grasp of data visualization, predictive analytics, and machine learning basics.
- Experience with biomedical data, image processing, or web apps is preferred.
- Ability to solve problems, communicate clearly, and work effectively in a team.
- Basic project management skills and business acumen.
