About the role#
The Image Quality Intern role provides an opportunity for an engineering student to work with senior engineers on design solutions for surgery imaging products. You will join a team focused on developing and evaluating complex surgical imaging systems to improve image contrast, clarity, and detail.
What you'll do#
- Refine and tune image processing algorithms.
- Participate in cadaver or live animal imaging labs to collect data.
- Gather feedback from image quality scientists and clinical imaging specialists.
- Document designs with technical rigor.
- Present design results to team management.
- Assist in the specification, design, verification, and validation of system features and sub-systems, including X-ray exposure control and visualization.
- Seek mentoring to solve problems and learn new skills.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Familiarity with and interest in Python programming.
- Intent to return to school in Fall 2027.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Please note that sponsorship is not provided for this role.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- You must be able to relocate to Salt Lake City and work a minimum of 10 weeks full-time during the summer of 2027.
