About the role#
GE HealthCare is hiring a Sourcing Intern to join our Integrated Supply Chain team for the summer of 2027. This role provides hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost-saving initiatives. You will work alongside procurement professionals, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support our global medical technology operations.
What you'll do#
- Support sourcing and procurement teams with supplier management and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends to find improvement opportunities.
- Assist with supplier RFQs, bid analysis, and sourcing recommendations.
- Participate in supplier meetings, business reviews, and cross-functional project discussions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Operations departments.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance, quality metrics, and risk mitigation activities.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and emerging industry trends.
- Support cost reduction and productivity initiatives through data analysis and benchmarking.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be at least a sophomore and returning to school in the fall of 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- You must be willing to relocate to Salt Lake City for the duration of the program.
- Sponsorship for work visas is not available for this position.
