About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training and development for individuals interested in a career in HVAC systems maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to gain practical skills in commercial building systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques within a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist experienced technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and system inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance procedures for HVAC equipment, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and control systems.
- Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing HVAC system issues using proper testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance in facility management systems.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives by monitoring system performance.
- Participate in safety training and consistently apply proper safety procedures when working with mechanical equipment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and technical instructions.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied spaces.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
