About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training for those pursuing a career in commercial and industrial electrical systems. You will work alongside experienced electricians to gain practical skills in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting our facilities management teams. This role offers a structured learning path covering electrical systems, safety protocols, and code compliance in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn to use testing equipment like multimeters and ammeters to diagnose electrical issues.
- Assist with inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, lighting, and power equipment.
- Help install and maintain building electrical systems including lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Document electrical work performed, materials used, and system modifications.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and attend regular safety training to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how electrical systems integrate with other building infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of education in electrical technology, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- A basic understanding of electrical theory and safety practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail.

- Physical capability to work in various positions and environments, such as on ladders or in confined spaces.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
