About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training for individuals building a career in HVAC systems maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to learn essential technical skills through practical application. This role offers a structured pathway to understand commercial building systems, preventative maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist experienced HVAC technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and system inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance for equipment such as air handlers, chillers, boilers, and control systems.
- Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing HVAC system issues using proper testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance in facility management systems.
- Attend technical training sessions to build knowledge of HVAC theory and system design.
- Collaborate with facilities team members to understand how HVAC systems integrate with overall building operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Good communication abilities and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and technical instructions.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain a refrigerant license as part of the internship.

- Location: Seattle, WA (On-site).
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
