About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training and development for individuals interested in HVAC systems maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to learn essential technical skills and gain practical experience with commercial building systems. This role is a full-time, paid position with a rolling application window.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist experienced HVAC technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and system inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance procedures for equipment such as air handlers, chillers, boilers, and control systems.
- Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing HVAC system issues using testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance in facility management systems.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives by monitoring system performance.
- Participate in safety training and consistently apply proper safety procedures.
- Obtain a refrigerant license as part of the internship program.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and technical instructions.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
