About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training for individuals building a career in HVAC systems maintenance and operations. You will work directly with experienced technicians to learn technical skills through practical application. The role offers a structured way to understand commercial building systems, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist experienced technicians during routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Participate in preventative maintenance for equipment such as air handlers, chillers, and boilers.
- Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, building plans, and equipment specifications.
- Assist in diagnosing HVAC system issues using testing equipment and troubleshooting methods.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance in management systems.
- Attend technical training sessions to build knowledge of HVAC theory and system design.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or recent completion of education in HVAC, mechanical engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and technical instructions.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain a refrigerant license as part of the internship.
