About the role#
This position is for a Student Technologist at Jefferson Health Center City. You will perform diagnostic imaging procedures on adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients. The role requires working every third weekend, with shifts on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is potential to pick up additional shifts.
What you'll do#
- Position patients and select the correct anatomic and technical parameters for imaging.
- Prepare for and assist physicians during imaging procedures.
- Complete all required documentation, including billing protocols and image distribution.
- Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
- Assist the Technologist by attending to patient comfort, managing patient flow, and documenting clinical information.
- Maintain adequate supplies for department operations.
- Assist in the preparation of contrast media or medications within your scope of practice.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a radiologic science program.
- Minimum of six months of clinical experience as a student in a radiology department.
- Passed all related exam competencies as set by program guidelines and ARRT or ARDMS.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Computer skills and working knowledge of hospital RIS and PACS systems.
- Ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs, perform lateral patient transfers, and stand or walk for long periods.
