About the role#
As an Industrial Engineer Intern, you will support efforts to improve operational efficiency and optimize production processes. You will contribute to projects involving production layouts, process mapping, and workstation design while maintaining data accuracy across manufacturing systems. This role provides an opportunity to apply engineering principles in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with production line moves, layout modifications, and process change initiatives.
- Support Industrial Engineers in planning and preparing manufacturing areas for equipment or process changes.
- Maintain and update the Industrial Engineering Database and other engineering systems.
- Create and update production visuals, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and validating production tooling and equipment.
- Support process standardization efforts in alignment with global, regional, and site requirements.
- Help ensure data accuracy to support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Participate in process improvement projects focused on efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Basic understanding of industrial engineering concepts including work measurement, process mapping, facilities layout, and workstation design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate data.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous internship, project work, or academic experience related to manufacturing or process improvement is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD is preferred.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma concepts.
