About the role#
The Mold Maker Co-op/Internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced toolmakers. You will learn to build, repair, and maintain precision plastic injection molds. This role is designed for those looking to develop a career in precision manufacturing. You will support daily production activities while gaining hands-on experience in an operations environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, and repair of molds.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Operate manual mills and surface grinders.
- Measure and inspect components using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
- Support the troubleshooting and maintenance of existing tooling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Participate in training programs and skill development activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or completion of a vocational or technical program in machining, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in hands-on work.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Exposure to manual or CNC machining processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and inspection methods is preferred.
- Basic understanding of metals and materials used in tooling is preferred.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, perform visual inspections, and lift up to 40 pounds.

- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly range of $16.00 to $32.00.
