About the role#
The Park School of Communications is hiring Teaching Assistants for Journalism (JOUR) courses during the Fall 2026 semester. These positions provide students with experiential learning opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in professional settings. Roles are available for JOUR 21100 (Visual Journalism) and JOUR 39023 (Special Topics: Field Experience).
What you'll do#
- Assist in classroom instruction regarding EFP equipment and editing software.
- Support students during EFP learning opportunities to produce multimedia journalism content.
- Assist in the implementation and operation of EFP equipment and editing software in both classroom and field settings.
- Produce and manage social media content.
- Create multimedia journalism content.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, preferably in Communications or Journalism.
- For JOUR 21100, you must have previously taken the course.
- For JOUR 39023, you must have completed Visual Journalism with a grade of B+ or higher.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 2 hours per week.
- Compensation: $16 per hour.
