About the role#
The Park School of Communications is hiring Teaching Assistants for Journalism courses during the Fall 2026 semester. These positions provide hands-on experience in classroom instruction and multimedia production. Students will support faculty and peers in the following courses: Visual Journalism (JOUR 21100) and Special Topics: Field Experience (JOUR 39023).
What you'll do#
- Assist in classroom instruction regarding Electronic Field Production (EFP) equipment and editing software.
- Support students in EFP learning opportunities to create multimedia journalism content.
- Assist in the implementation and operation of EFP equipment in both classroom and field settings.
- Produce and manage social media content.
- Create multimedia journalism content as part of course-aligned learning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Ithaca College.
- For Visual Journalism (JOUR 21100), you must have previously taken the course.
- For Special Topics: Field Experience (JOUR 39023), you must have completed Visual Journalism with a grade of B+ or higher.

- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Hours: 2 hours per week.
- Compensation: $16 per hour.
