About the role#
Foodnet Meals on Wheels provides home-delivered meals and nutrition services to older adults in Tompkins County. As a Social Media Coordinator, you will support their mission to help seniors live independently. This is a paid Federal Work Study position for Ithaca College students.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement & Philanthropy Manager to execute the social media communications plan.
- Capture and edit photos and videos of organization activities for social media.
- Tailor messaging to reach different audiences and support philanthropic goals.
- Target younger demographics on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Analyze social media data to inform future communication strategies.
- Manage engagement and monitor comments on various platforms.
- Assist with event promotion, including the Mac and Cheese Bowl.
What you'll need#
- Experience with social media posting and scheduling.
- Proficiency in shooting and editing photo and video content using your own smartphone and computer.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in social services, food security, and senior health.
- Familiarity with software such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva, or video editing tools is helpful.
- Experience analyzing social media analytics is a plus.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Remote, with a requirement to travel to Foodnet Meals on Wheels weekly.
- Hours: 8 hours per week.
- Eligibility: This position is only open to students awarded Federal Work Study.
