About the role#
As a Resource Adequacy Study Intern, you will work with the Capacity Requirement and Accreditation team. You will support studies that evaluate whether the region has the resources needed to meet future electricity demand. This role involves working alongside experts to help ensure reliable electricity for more than 14 million people in New England.
What you'll do#
- Perform MARS simulations and what-if scenario analysis.
- Support studies for the reformed Capacity Market.
- Analyze renewable integration impacts, load growth, resource changes, and risk metrics.
- Review data and contribute to more efficient study processes.
- Develop process improvement ideas to assist the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or graduate-level academic program, with at least one year of college completed.
- Status as a rising senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Programming experience, preferably in Python or R.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
- A strong, independent work ethic and curiosity about solving complex technical problems.
- A basic understanding of power system concepts.

- This is an on-site, full-time role.
